Department Description:
The Community Engagement Team implements Asylum Access Thailandโs (AAT)โs empowerment and capacity building projects on Refugee Empowerment Group (REG), Refugee Leadership program,Psychological First Aid Program (PFA), and building partnerships with refugee communities.
Position Description
The Community Engagement Coordinator will be leading the Community Engagement (CE) team for overseeing CE program, which are comprised of 3 projects, and, supervising CE team members, monitoring the outputs and outcomes, and implementing planned CE activities including the management of refugee leadership program, livelihood programs, and psychosocial support activities to ensure all implementations run effectively in response to the organization goals, donor compliance, and refugeesโ needs.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management (40%):
- Building long-term goals for community engagement projects and initiating community project initiatives;
- Daily program management throughout the program life cycle, involving in strategically planning with community engagement Theory of Change, annual planning process, annual work plan and project planning process;
- Initiate monitoring tools and process to track implementation;
- managing risks and issues and mitigating the risks;
- Maintaining and managing stakeholdersโ communication, including developing stakeholdersโ map to defined the interest of targeted groups;
- Tracking the deliverables (outputs) to the programโs outcome;
- Contributing to proposal development and innovation on new programming design.
Relationship Building (20%):
- Coordinating with other AAT colleagues from different departments or offices to increase public awareness and understanding about refugees, human rights and AATโs programs;
- Strengthen collaboration between AAT and the refugee community to understand the development and to promote the inclusion of community members;
- Participating in stakeholder meetings and strengthening collaboration between AAT and other stakeholders including UNHCR, NGOs, religious groups, business sectors, academia, and government agencies.
Supervisory Role (30%):
- Provide technical advices and support to community team members to support them to implement project activities smoothly;
- Strengthening community outreach team membersโ capacities in the area of expertise needed in the implementing projects by regular check-ins and keep track on their progress;
- Taking a lead in a team meeting on a weekly basis and maintaining regular communication directly to AAT team members especially, the Program Director, Policy Advocacy Team, and the leadership team.
Budgeting Roles (10%)
- Yearly plan for budget for community outreach team;
- Quarterly and monthly keep track of spendings to control underspending and overspending;
- Plan to use budget effectively and understand donor compliance;
- Ensure spent money fits well with the organizationโs goals and objectives, including donorโs deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Social Science, Political Science, or related degree;
- A minimum of 3 year experience coordinating and leading projects;
- Knowledge of and ability to work with groups from a vulnerable population, including women and children;
- Good communication skills and experience with training/facilitating workshops is an asset;
- Knowledge of Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation;
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.;
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as under supervision;
- Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills;
- Good teamwork and flexibility, enthusiastic and willing to use feedback from others for improvement;
- Able to travel to refugee communities and availability to work occasionally on weekends.
- Good English and Thai communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Basic working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, MS Office and related tools (Docs, Sheets, etc.).

Hours and Location of Work
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a full-time position based in our offices in Bangkok, Thailand. Candidates should be aware that some flexibility regarding working hours is required in order to take out of hours calls and meetings with international colleagues
Compensation
Position comes with a competitive nonprofit salary, and a robust benefits package. The salary of this position is 50,000THB.
