Job description

The internship focuses on support to the openIMIS initiative (www.openIMIS.org). openIMIS is an interoperable, versatile open source software which supports the administration of health financing and social protection programs. It is designed to manage the complex, high-volume data flows which are required to operate such programs by seamlessly integrating beneficiary, provider and payer data. More than 34 million people in 14 countries benefit from health insurance, employment injury insurance, cash transfer and voucher schemes managed using openIMIS. The openIMIS Initiative supports users, implementers and developers and co-ordinates the community of practice. It aims at promoting the use of the software as well as the continuous development and further integration with other digital systems in health and social protection.

Your tasks

As part of your internship, you will have the following tasks, among others:

Contribute to openIMIS' various digital communication channels (Drupal-based website, social media, newsletter) Support in developing compelling communication materials, including press releases, fact sheets, videos, impact stories, and case studies Contribute to the implementation of openIMIS' internal and external communications strategy Assist in the planning, organization, and follow-up of both virtual and physical events Contribute to knowledge products related to digital transformation and social protection Support M&E efforts through data analysis and reporting Provide general administrative and organizational assistance as needed

Your profile

Current student in digital media/communications, digital technology/management, journalism, public relations, international development, social sciences, or another related field Interest in communications, knowledge management processes and data analytics, demonstrated interest in the use and promotion of open-source software and technologies High level of technical competency, including familiarity with or willingness to learn the ins and outs of working with Drupal-based websites and content management systems and other applications Strong organisational skills as well as high quality written and verbal communication skills, commitment, teamspirit, initiative and creativity Excellent MS-Office skills Very good knowledge of written and spoken German and English (English is the team language), knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage
