Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) serves as Secretariat to the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the UNโs main policymaking body addressing crime prevention and criminal justice issues. UNODC works with Member States to help reduce crime; ensure the operation of fair, effective, inclusive, transparent and accountable criminal justice institutions; and promote equal access to justice for all. This internship is located in the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Section (CPCJS), Division of Treaty Affairs (DTA), UNODC, Vienna, Austria. The Section aims to provide a comprehensive, innovative and operational response to todayโs crime prevention and criminal justice challenges. The Intern will work five days per week (40 hours) under the overall supervision of a professional staff of the Section. The intern will support the daily communications work of the Section. Duties may include, but are not limited to: โข Tracking, researching and analyzing information on assigned topics, gathering information from diverse sources and helping assess news value and other potential impact; โข Drafting web stories and social media posts; โข Assisting with the implementation of the Sectionโs communication campaigns; โข Maintaining and updating the Sectionโs website; โข Developing graphics for social media and the website; โข Creating monthly social media reports; โข Maintain a well-organized and up-to-date archive of communication materials for internal use and institutional memory. โข Assist in the planning and coordination of events and meetings, including logistical support and preparation of background documents, presentations, speeches, and talking points. โข Document events and compile comprehensive post-event summaries and reports. โข Perform other duties as assigned.
