Work LocationPORT OF SPAIN Expected duration6 MONTHS to start 3 February 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe UN Secretary-General's launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator - the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System and Representative of the UN Secretary-General at country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDGs. The Internship at the UN Resident Coordinator Office for Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten will last for 6 months with the purpose of supporting the communication work and function of the RCO. The Intern is to provide support to the Development Coordination Officer (Programme Communications and Advocacy) primarily in the areas of content creation, digital communications, and coordination of design and layout of the Annual Results Report โ among other duties. Tasks will include: โข Create platform-specific digital content, including images, short videos and text for social media platforms and UN in Trinidad and Tobago website to promote the work of the UN team in Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten โข Generate ideas and prepare original, context-specific content to localize global UN days and messages โข Seek approval for and schedule digital content posts throughout the week using online scheduling features on social media platforms โข Write original pieces on the work of the RCO and the UNCT for publication online and in traditional media โข Take accompanying photographs โข Download global UN content from Trello and other sources, and upload to UN in T&T social media platforms, namely Facebook, Instagram, X and Youtube โข Track analytics for follower numbers, likes, shares and engagements and provide monthly analytics summaries โข Upload content to the back-end of the UN in Trinidad and Tobago website โข Inbox management and engagement management on social media platforms โข Monitor social media feeds to curate material from global and UN and UN agencies working in Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten for content to be cross promoting on UN in TT platforms โข Support with graphic design for the Annual Results Report by liaising with graphic designer to place images and visuals โข Attend global, regional and local communications meetings online to keep in touch with recommendations and best practice for UN Communications Qualifications/special skillsThe basic education required is HS Diploma. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelorโs degree or equivalent).
