GIZ International Services is currently preparing to bid on the EU funded tender: Water Wise Communities in Papua New Guinea. The official Terms of Rreference with its requirements have not been published yet.
The projectโs objective is to contribute to improving health and livelihoods for people through improved access to water supply services in selected district towns in Papua New Guinea, including contributing to Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction in the capital city, Port Moresby. This technical assistance is envisioned to support the capacity building of the beneficiary agency, Water PNG (WPNG) to effectively implement and monitor the infrastructure component.
Your tasks
The expert will be responsible for the design and implementation of communication and outreach strategies to raise public awareness on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Tasks include developing and disseminating context-appropriate communication materials across multiple channels. All activities will be carried out under the supervision of, and in close coordination with, the Team Leader, to ensure strategic alignment with overall project objectives.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills:
Bachelorโs degree in communication, journalism, sociology, political sciences, business administration, economics, or a related field. Very good sensitivity to and knowledge of Papua New Guinea's economy, culture, and customs. Excellent English expression both orally and in writing, including the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise style. Excellent computer literacy, particularly MS Excel as well as strong command of graphic design and presentation software (e.g. Canva, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media platforms and management tools
General Professional experience:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant international experience in designing and implementing public awareness campaigns. At least 5 years of professional experience in Papua New Guinea.
Specific professional experience:
At least 8 years of professional experience in raising awareness in the WASH sector, including willingness-to-pay surveys. At least 6 years of proven experience in undertaking awareness campaigns in urban areas on the importance of clean, safe water supply, proper sanitation and hygiene. Experience with at least 1 WASH project in Papua New Guinea with special attention on gender, social inclusion, environment, climate change as well as digital transformation. Demonstrated understanding of Papua New Guineaโs complex social structures and cultural context, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders across all levels of society.Location information
