The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) is seeking a CMIM Specialist in the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM) Support Group.

The successful candidate will be assigned to the CMIM Support Group, which provides policy recommendations to the CMIM members on further strengthening the CMIM arrangement, supporting the longer-term developments of the ASEAN+3 Regional Financing Arrangements (RFAs). S/he will report to the Group of the CMIM Support Group and work closely with the ASEAN+3 member authorities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Review the CMIM arrangement and its related policies and guidelines to provide the CMIM members with policy analysis and recommendations to strengthen and enhance the operational readiness of the CMIM.Conduct research on CMIM/RFA-related matters for further enhancement of the regional financial stability, including the exploration of new facilities and financing structures to tackle with new and emerging risks and their potential manifestation into crises through rigorous studies and learning from other peer RFAs.Follow up macroeconomic situations of the CMIM members in accordance with CMIM objectives, provided by AMRO macroeconomic surveillance group.Coordinate with the member authorities, and provide Technical Assistance (TA) on CMIM-related matters in coordination with AMRO TA team.Implement any other tasks as assigned by Group and/or Deputy Director and senior management of AMRO.

Institutional Responsibilities:

Participate in any institution-wide activity, such as AMRO's internal committees or task forces, as assigned.Lead and conduct training/seminars/workshops to disseminate knowledge to AMRO staff and external stakeholders.Perform any other duty as may be reasonably required in furtherance of AMRO's overall goals.

The candidate should possess:

A bachelor's degree in economics, international finance, law, or other related fields, from a reputable university; a postgraduate degree would be an advantage.At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in international and regional financial cooperation. Work experience at International Financial Institutions (IFIs), other international organizations, or any international environment on related fields is advantageous.In-depth understanding of international financial architecture, Global Financial Safety Net (GFSN), CMIM and RFA-related issues.Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure, manage resources and time constraints, and adapt quickly to unforeseen challenges.Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating independence, self-motivation and a determined mindset.A strong sense of perseverance, efficiency, and reliability in managing multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.Excellent teamwork and communication skills to interact effectively with staff of diverse cultural backgrounds and officials of the CMIM member authorities, at all levels.High proficiency in written and spoken English.
