Climate Change Adaption Specialist (CCAS) - Water Smart Agricultural Development will be a field-focused position that will be deployed for 80 โ€“ 90% of their time to support the creation, piloting, and start-up of innovative program responses in the field of Climate Smart agricultural production.

The CCAS Specialist will support CAREโ€™s gender approach of programming to support women's equal access and efficient use of water resources for domestic and productive purposes. The position will deploy to a minimum of two of the chosen CARE Country Offices in MENA (Yemen and Syria) contexts which are adversely affected by Climate Change.

Staff in regional and global program teams will steer the focus of the work to ensure its effectiveness in the provision of in-country technical assistance, strategic and programmatic design and support, fund-raising, and capacity building CAREโ€™s program staff.

Responsibilities:

ร˜ Lead Programme Development Assessments & Plans.

ร˜ Resource Mobilization & Business Development.

ร˜ Design and Creation of Pilot Projects for Scaling

ร˜ Partnership and Coordination with Internal & External Stakeholders

Qualifications:

ร˜ Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent combination of education work experience in related disciplines hydrology, natural resource management, soil and water conservation engineering, irrigation, water resources geography, environmental management, climate change or other relevant disciplines.

ร˜ 7 years' experience of working with national or provincial governments on Water Smart Agricultural Development management required.

ร˜ Demonstrated program assessment design; programme start-up; designing pathways to sustainable impact at scale.
