Project Context and Scope
In response to the language barriers faced by displaced populations, particularly those affected by the Ukraine crisis, IOM Hungary has established interpretation services to support access to public and private institutions. This includes assistance during interactions with authorities (e.g., police, health, immigration), as well as schools, banks, and hospitals. The consultancy contributes to broader objectives including promoting inclusive access to services and protection-sensitive assistance.

Programme Implementation Unitย Tasks to be performed under this contract
- Assist beneficiaries during appointments with public authorities and service providers.
- Interpret between Hungarian and Ukrainian or Russian (and vice versa) on diverse topics.
- Translate relevant materials in English, Hungarian, and Ukrainian or Russian.
- Ensure impartiality and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Maintain records of interpretation sessions, including session details and demographics.
- Submit periodic reports on service delivery, trends, and challenges.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. ย Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
- Maintenance of a complete log of all interpretation sessions delivered with relevant data, and timely submission of monthly reports via Kobo
- Flexibility in responding to urgent or short-notice requests
- Professional conduct and communication with team
- Provision of timely and accurate translation of internal and external materials (e.g. info sheets, forms, communication content) Education
- High school diploma with minimum 3 years of relevant experience in interpretation or cultural mediation; or
- Bachelorโs degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Linguistics, or related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Experience
- Proven experience in interpretation.
- Experience in humanitarian or migrant assistance settings is desirable.
- Prior work with international organizations or NGOs is an asset. Skills

- Ability to work under pressure with professionalism and flexibility. Languages
