    BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

    Sudan is experiencing unprecedented levels of food insecurity, with over half the populationโ€”25.6 million peopleโ€”in need of assistance. WFP is scaling up its emergency operations despite enormous challenges due to access limitations, insecurity, and a rapidly evolving conflict. The World Bank funded Sudan SANAD Emergency Safety Nets Project seeks to support households cope with the impact of the ongoing crisis and food insecurity.

    The SANAD project will support 552,500 beneficiaries across 8 states with cash assistance for twelve months. The Project Team requires additional staff to support effectively coordinate downstream follow-ups, data validation, and operational planning.

    Job purpose

    To achieve these objectives, the Project Team requires four Programme Assistant (Cash-Based Transfers), SC L4, to carry out specialized and/or standardized tasks within the Cash Assistance delivery portfolio. The role will be under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, with technical guidance provided by the CBT team.
