About the VPU:
The WB Finance & Accounting (WFA) Vice Presidency is responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting and internal control framework for IBRD and IDA, and the extensive Trust Fund/Partnership portfolio of the WB entities. It supports an appropriate fiduciary control framework and administering disbursements for Bank lending and leads the client service function for the WB’s corporate expenses. Organizationally, WFA comprises three departments: (1) Corporate Accounting and Reporting, (2) Trust Funds and Loans, and (3) Financial Operations. In WFA, our mandate supports both internal and external clients while we focus on delivery, optimization, impact, and people & culture.
About the Unit:
WBG’s Finance and Accounting Solutions & Transformation Team (WFAST) combines business, technology, and delivery know-how to support, drive, and enable WFA’s business and digital transformation.  WFAST is a trusted partner and competency center to support and drive WFA’s digital transformation and innovation agenda providing leading capabilities in intelligent automation, process excellence, data governance, advanced analytics and AI delivering value across WFA and the wider institution. WFAST enables growth of digital dexterity and skills and the adoption of self-service automation and analytics tools among staff.

Process Excellence:
•   Partner with finance and accounting teams to uncover inefficiencies and pain points. •   Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.•   Capture requirements, translate business needs into clear user stories and functional specs.•   Design dashboards that deliver real-time insights and measurable business value.•   Ensure all solutions meet data governance standards, including handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Automation, AI, and Data:
•   Explore and recommend automation opportunities through feasibility studies. •   Tackle unstructured data challenges with appropriate automation and AI tools.•   Collaborate with tech teams to build scalable, secure solutions, including proof-of-concepts (POCs). •   Support development of solutions and testing and validation to ensure solutions meet business goals.•   Complete required control reviews such as infosec and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
Project Management and Reporting:
•   Build and maintain a pipeline of transformation use cases.•   Manage projects, track progress, and report on active projects with clarity and transparency.•   Share lessons learned to fuel continuous improvement.•   Communicate updates proactively and escalate issues in a timely manner.•   Raise awareness through presentations and effective communication.

Selection Criteria

•   Bachelor’s degree with 4 years’ experience in business automation and process improvement  •   Experience working with BPM and process mining and automation tools such as iGrafx, Celonis, and Alteryx  •   Background in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar field •   Proven success collaborating with multicultural, cross-functional teams•   Familiarity with WFA’s data, ERP landscape, and business processes (preferred)•   Self-starter who manages tasks independently and meets deadlines•   Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills•   Clear and confident communicator, adept at articulating ideas both in writing and verbally
