In this full-time and permanent role, youโll be responsible for the effective operation of 54 reasonsโ business development function, overseeing the bid team and working closely with operational leaders to plan for, initiate, coordinate and develop successful, strategic and high value funding proposals for government and non-government funders. Based ideally in Melbourne (though other capital cities will be considered), youโll be a senior member of our national Strategy and Partnerships team โ working alongside a talented bunch of motivated, supportive and no-drama professionals who work hard, have fun, get creative and are driven by making a positive impact for children in Australia.
You will make a difference by:
Driving strategic positioning, partnership development, and revenue generation Facilitating robust decision-making, including with senior leaders, Executives and Board Leading quality high value tenders and proposals, and managing multi-disciplinary bid teams as required including technical, financial and operational specialists Being a supportive player-coach of 54 reasonsโ business development staffA place to feel valued:
You are an outstanding communicator, with runs on the board in securing high value longer term opportunities ideally in the children and family sector. Youโve a gift for distilling complex technical information into concise, compelling messages that cut through and inspire your audience. With an adaptive, inclusive outlook, you build relationships easily with both internal and external stakeholders. Youโre a highly motivated self-starter, ready to roll your sleeves up to help a teammate and ensure a high-quality outcome.
This role requires:
Track record in high value funding acquisition in the Australian children and family services sector or similar, with the ability to lead and/or engage in complex financial and business modelling Demonstrated people development and management capability Exceptional writing skills and the ability to synthesise technical information, present complex ideas clearly, articulate compelling win themes, and ensure compliance with funder specifications Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, and an ability to meet strict deadlines when managing multi-disciplinary and/or geographically dispersed teams Attention to the full BD lifecycle from capture planning, retention planning, to monitoring win rates and evaluating ROI Degree in relevant field, for example business or project management or public administration, or Diploma with equivalent training experience. Foundation or Practitioner certification to the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) is beneficial.A place to belong:
