5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances childrenโ€™s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support childrenโ€™s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.

We wonโ€™t stop until we are all equal.

Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager (BDM) leads a Business Development Unit (BDU) and is responsible for the rollout of the Business Development Strategy for Plan International Lebanonโ€™s sustainable growth. The BDM will lead the BDU to further explore and diversify new business opportunities from institutional, corporate and other donors, and update the donor analysis needed for business planning. The BDM will steward relationships with donors and Planโ€™s National Offices to maintain existing donor funding and access new donor funds.

Dimensions of the Role

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Director of programmes, the Business Development Manager will work closely with a variety of functions to ensure Plan International Lebanonโ€™s growth, including the Programmes team, Advocacy & Influencing Manager, Grants Coordinator and Country Finance Manager amongst others. The BDM will oversee the quality design and timely submission of concept notes and proposal packages that deliver lasting impact for children, especially girls, in line with Plan International Lebanonโ€™s Country Strategy and donor priorities.
