Organizational Setting

The Division of Information Technology provides support to the IAEA in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA's ICT infrastructure comprises hardware and software platforms, and cloud and externally-hosted services. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and Prince2 (Projects in a Controlled Environment) best practices.

Main Purpose

The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) works in the Office of the Director, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, whose function is to ensure overall coordination of activities between the Divisionโ€™s Sections with a view to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of implementation, and administrative processes.ย 
The incumbent supports the Director and Section Heads in tracking deadlines and deliverables, and develops and implements means to collect and monitor performance indicators. The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) also conducts financial and budgetary analyses and prepares and drafts reports and analyses.ย 
The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) assists in the coordination of the Divisionโ€™s programme and budget and related reporting and monitoring activities. The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) supports efforts to increase the effectiveness of collaboration and internal communication.

Role

The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) is a collaborator and analyst, providing input and support as needed, and developing expertise and knowledge in the area of management, budget and programme and financial planning and implementation; and a team member, working collaboratively within the Division as well as with other departments and Offices.

Functions / Key Results Expected

Minimum of two years of experience in programme and resources planning, assessment and review or a related field.ย 

Knowledge of the principles and applications of results-based management and programme and project planning.ย 

Excellent computer skills in all the common applications required for word processing, data analysis, graphs, report preparation; knowledgeable in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications (ORACLE).ย 

Skills in problem analysis and information research.ย 

Strong analytical and financial skills.ย 

Ability to follow-up on tasks independently.ย 

Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $55163 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 31112*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance. Appointment information

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory medical report.Staff members may be assigned to any location.Candidates appointed to posts in the Professional and higher categories are subject to IAEA rotation policy and their maximum tour of service shall normally be seven years.The IAEA retains the discretion not to make any appointment to this vacancy, to make an appointment at a lower grade or with a different contract type, or to make an appointment with a modified job description or for shorter duration than indicated above.
