What we are looking for
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient and dynamic Area Manager that will ensureย high quality and cost-effective programme/project implementation in the states of Bolivar and Apure, from the main base in Puerto Ordaz. This position is part of the Country Management Group (CMG).
What you will do
Line management responsibilities for directly reporting staff.ย This includes theย Performance management process; setting clear goals aligned to country strategy and priorities, and to follow up and support staffโs achievement.ย Responsible for key processes as workforce planning, recruitment, staff induction and development and ensure Duty of Care for own staffย Provide area specific input on Core Competences strategies, Country Strategy and Plan of Action Implementation of projects (including master support budget and coordinating input for donor proposals and reports) in the area, in compliance with contractual commitments (i.e. quality, synergies, timeliness), and ensure optimal use of resources within the allocated project budgets and CC strategiesย Assess needs, develop emergency response and implement response plansย Represent NRC and networking on area levelย Ensure that capacity building is provided to all staff in the areaย

What you will bring
Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Senior Project Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context, especially on finance management Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contextsย Previous management experience of complex teams, participation in change management projectsย Documented results related to the positionโs responsibilitiesย Knowledge about own leadership skills/profileย Fluency in Spanish and English both written and verbalย Knowledge of the context in Venezuela is a strong assetย Experience representing an organization with external actorsย Experience in oversight and management of support processesย Experience in remote management of offices and teamsWhat we offer
