ANCP Project Manager

Plan International began working in the Pacific in 2012 and has offices and staff in Solomon Islands (SI) and PNG, in Bougainville and has an established regional office in Suva, Fiji.
Plan International PNG Office is seeking to hire a full time ANCP Project Manager. The role will provide lead for lead the project management of Plan Internationalโs youth focussed girls led climate resilience program in Papua New Guinea by ensuring gender transformative approach is applied to empower young people and their communities and stakeholders in responding and adapting better to the stresses and impact of climate change. The role will ensure the program apply strategies to tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability. The role reports to Country Programme Manager based in PISI.
Do you have what it takes to be successful in this role?
Essential
- Proven track record in partnership management especially with civil society organizations and government agencies
- Qualification and/or proven at least 7 yearsโ experience in one or more of the following areas: Climate Change resilience, gender equality and youth leadership, economy empowerment, safeguarding biodiversity, behaviour change, disaster preparedness and humanitarian response or relevant field
- At least 3 years of proven experience managing project and project teams on Climate Change (CC), economy empowerment programs or projects
- Advanced knowledge and experience in applying intersectional approaches to support gender equality, social inclusion and climate change resilience programs and policies.
- Experience with training, facilitation and capacity building of project teams and
- NGOs/CBOs, particularly in CC.
- Proven capacity to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with government agencies, particularly in climate change sector
- Proven capacity in written donor reporting with quality and timely efficiency
Desirable
- Knowledgeable of development and humanitarian issues affecting children specially girls,
- youth, women and families in the country and the Pacific region
- Demonstrated experience in successfully using key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development to influence policy and practice change
- Strong knowledge of child and womenโs rights and gender justice and rights-based approaches
- Advanced understanding of the development and NGO sector and experience of working with coalitions, networks and NGOs/CBOs in the Pacific.
- Demonstrated success in developing funding proposals to multi-lateral and bi-lateral donor agencies
- Established network of key Climate change sector contacts in Fiji and across other Pacific
island countries at both national and Pacific regional level

- Strong communication, coordination and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to build positive and trustworthy relations for influencing;
- Experience in managing time and resource constraints;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
- Proven IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and circumstances including at a distance/remotely and in, disaster affected areas
Demonstrated ability to work with multi-culture and multi-lingual staff/team members
