About this position
The Amazon Coordination Unit (ACU) is looking for a strategic Operations Lead Specialist. You will be responsible for enhancing coordination and fostering synergies within the IDB Group and with external partners on Amazon related projects.
You will work in the Amazon Coordination Unit, in the context of the Regional Program \"Amazonia Forever\". This team facilitates the implementation of the Amazonia Forever Program through proactive and strategic coordination and the building of strong alliances and relationships, in close collaboration with the IDB Group's operational areas, with special attention to cross-cutting issues of fundamental importance for achieving results through the Amazon Coordination Unit.
It is a small and dynamic team, with divisions of responsibility, but also with an expectation of teamwork, proactivity, flexibility, and a spirit of collaboration. The team works closely with the IDB's Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CSD) Manager, as well as with Specialists and Managers from across the IDB Group and from the Amazon countries.
What youโll do:
Lead specific projects and/or internally coordinate the sectors and countries.
Assist the Head of the Amazon Coordination Unit in the development of operational strategies, policies and guidelines in the five thematic areas of the Amazon Regional Program (combating deforestation and strengthening environmental control and security in the context of national governments; Bio-economy; Human Capital; Sustainable Agriculture, Livestock and Forest Management; Sustainable Infrastructure and Sustainable Cities) and the Program's three cross-cutting issues (diversity and gender, institutional strengthening and forest conservation).
Represent the Bank in external initiatives with other Multilateral Development Banks, governments and relevant national and international organizations.
Contribute to and support sector dialogue with key partners, national or local government authorities, other donors and non-governmental organizations in order to identify possible areas of Bank support that contribute to the achievement of the Amazon's development objectives.
Coordinate networks within Amazonia Forever and share knowledge and innovations to drive research.
Enhance coordination and collaboration, while creating synergies and opportunities within the different partners.
Promote a collaborative dialogue and partnership among the sector and other Departments of the IDB Group, building and maintaining internal and external networks.
What you'll need
Education: A Masterโs degree in global development, foreign policy, economy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Experience: At least 10 years of progressive experience and possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively influence and work with all levels of staff and internal and external counterparts, including senior management, the Board of Executive Directors, external partners, among others. Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.Key skills

Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
