5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesUNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency. Our mission is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled.

ContextThe 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. Every year, the UNITE Campaign focuses on a specific theme, calling for collective action to end violence against women and girls. This year, the campaign highlights the emerging threat of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TF GBV) — a growing form of abuse that poses new challenges in advancing gender equality in the digital age. UNFPA, in cooperation with UNV, has established a Special Programme Initiative to engage UN Volunteers in supporting UNFPA’s work in Georgia, with a particular focus on enhancing the visibility and outreach of activities planned within the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. The selected national UN Community Volunteers will assist UNFPA team in Georgia in 'Awareness, Advocacy and Outreach': Supporting UNFPA to raise awareness about the topic of the 16-Days Campaign (TF GBV), about its negative impact on young people, especially girls. The UN Volunteers will follow and participate in events and online campaigns organized by UNFPA in Georgia, and use their own social media platforms to create relevant content aimed at amplifying messages about ending violence against women. The UN Volunteers will engage in creative activism through digital outreach, raising awareness, calling for safer online spaces, and promoting real-life stories about TF GBV.
