Job Summary

The Senior Advisor for Leadership Development will provide expertise in designing, implementing, and expanding leadership development programs and initiatives at CRS. In close collaboration and partnership with the Overseas Operations Staff Learning and Development Team and regional leaders, the Senior Advisor will lead implementation of CRSโ€™ flagship leadership program (Strengthen, Advance, and Inspire Leaders). The Senior Advisor will also provide facilitation and advisory services to advance CRSโ€™ global leadership development strategy.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

Management of Leadership Programs

  • Lead design & implementation of leadership programs. Responsible for: communicating to stakeholders, upskilling and coordinating facilitators and coaches, managing detailed implementation plans, meeting with regional teams, creating content and materials, designing tools to capture and report on program data to report to executives, etc.
  • Lead design and implementation of activities that build leadership practices (e.g. develop/adapt content for virtual leadership sessions, peer learning circles, 1:1 coaching, manager conversations, assessments), including integration of CRS functional capabilities
  • Facilitate leadership sessions, build capacity of CRS facilitation team, review/propose improvements to facilitation methods & content
  • Provide high-quality coaching services to CRS staff, build & expand team of internal CRS coaches (support trainings & certifications for new coaches, create peer shadowing and learning opportunities, etc)
  • Monitor results and impact of leadership programs (collect and analyze program data, capture and share lessons learned, report on key performance indicators), lead periodic reporting on outcomes & results
  • Proactively review/adapt design, learning approaches and content of leadership programs based on qualitative and quantitative data, experience of participants, etc
  • Proactively review program resources and propose strategies to optimize use of staff time and financial resources
  • Effectively engage & collaborate with regional teams, coaches, mentors, supervisors, subject-matter experts and program sponsors.

Support CRSโ€™ Global Leadership Development Strategy and Initiatives

  • Advise and consult with leaders to develop & refine CRSโ€™ Global Leadership Development Strategy
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to optimize design and impact of leadership development initiatives
  • Design and facilitate new leadership development programs for managers & leaders
  • Provide coaching and mentorship around leadership development approaches and themes
  • Champion and build capacity of others to effectively use various learning approaches, including large-scale workshops, small groups learning circles, leadership coaching, social learning, practical experience, and peer coaching.
  • Build trusting relationships and safe learning environments with leaders across diverse backgrounds, identities, and contexts

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in International Development, Program Administration, HR, Organization Development, Leadership Development, Instructional Design or related field
  • 10 years of experience in program management, leadership development, instructional design, capacity building, human resources, or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering learning and leadership development solutions within a global and multi-cultural environment
  • Knowledge and experience with adult learning theory, leadership development, and/or coaching competencies. Coaching certification a plus.
  • Collaborative working style and willingness to work with virtual & multicultural teams across multiple time zones
  • Demonstrated experience transferring knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring, and other formal and informal methods
  • Experience applying diversity, equity, inclusion and access (DEIA) concepts and practices in programs (in leadership development programs a plus).

Required Languages - English. French, Spanish or Arabic a plus.
