ย Context
Working under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Programme Support Coordinator, the incumbent will support the implementation of internal and external communication, public information and media related activities for IOM Yemen.
- Under the supervision of the Programme Support Coordinator, support the implementation of communications, awareness-raising, and visibility activities in line with established strategies and action plans.
- Supervise and coordinate a team across multiple offices, maintaining communication and alignment of work plans and reporting any operational or performance matters to the Programme Support Coordinator.
- Undertake frequent field missions to support Public Information (PI) coverage of activities and collect human-interest stories, photos and video clips.
- Contribute to producing human-interest stories from the field, photographs, and videos for an international audience, demonstrating cultural awareness, social sensitivity and informed consent.
- Support the preparation and posting of audiovisual content for IOM Yemenโs Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts to highlight IOM Yemenโs work on migration and displacement.
- Assist in preparing audiovisual inputs for external situation reports, the global Media Library, visibility materials, press briefing notes and social media products that highlight IOMโs work with vulnerable and conflict-affected populations.
- Collect PI materials (photographs, videos, migrant stories) that illustrate the actions and results of IOMโs works in Yemen.
- Liaise with programmatic units and support coordination of PI-related activities as instructed.
- Support efforts to promote the work of IOM in Yemen through local, regional and international media.
- Assist in implementing outreach activities and media and communication campaigns to promote IOMโs image and to increase the awareness of IOM activities in Yemen.
- Undertake duty travel as required.

- High school diploma with six years of professional experience; or,ย
- Bachelorโs degree in communications, public relations, filmmaking, photography, or related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Practical experience supporting awareness-raising or visibility activities.
- Familiarity with Communications with Communities (CWC) and behaviour-change communication approaches and techniques is an advantage.
- Demonstrated high competency as a writer in English.
- Knowledge of photography, graphic design, web, social media and video production is an advantage.
- Experience in capacity-building of staff and external counterparts.
- Experience working with international organizations.
- Experience in digital communications, including audiovisual production.
- Experience in media engagement and media training in humanitarian contexts.
- Experience producing content of global campaigns.
- Experience in storytelling with communities affected by crises.
- Experience of working with gender-related sensitivities. Skills
