In 2023, two-thirds of Afghanistanโs population need urgent humanitarian assistance to survive as the countryenters its third consecutive year of drought-like conditions and the second year of crippling economic decline while still reeling from the effects of 40 years of conflict and recurrent natural disasters. The mission employs 450 staff in five operational bases : Kabul, Helmand, Ghor, Daikundi, and Badakhshan. ACF teams address the underlying conditions leading to deadly malnutrition and food insecurity and provideaccess to basic health services.
Kabul base hosts the coordination office in charge of implementing water, sanitation and hygiene and nutrition projects aiming to reduce acute malnutrition in the Kabul Informal Settlements and in 26 health facilities. There are 103 National employees in Kabul with majority of expats located in the capital. There is a well-equipped guesthouse for expats, a coordination office and warehouse located separately. A variety of restaurants and supermarkets are accessible depending on security rules and context. Movements may be restricted and a curfew strictly imposed.
This position is based in Kabul with frequent travel to other field locations.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, you will be ensuring the development and implementation of the Country's Nutritional Surveillance strategy by guaranteeing the quality, relevance and scaling of the department's in the mission, respecting ACFโs quality standards:
More precisely, your missions will be :
- To develope and implement AAH Nutrition Surveillance Strategy
- To plan and lead SMART ,Coverage surveys and other nutrition surveys in partnership with nutrition/health partners, Government of Afghanistan (AIM-WG, PND, HMIS, MoPH) and ACFIN HQs
- To strengthen the technical capacity and co-chair the Nutrition Assessment Working Group (AIM-WG)
- To manage the surveillance program team and conduct internal surveillance activities
- To promote AAH nutrition approach
- To manage logistic and financial resources of the surveillance department projects
- To build technical capacity of the Nutrition Surveillance team, including how to monitor projects to ensure adherence to AAH Quality Standards
- Proposal writing and fundraising for the sustainabilty of the department
Votre profil
You have a medical, paramedical, or similar background, with at least 5 years of experience in managing nutrition assessments, research and surveys in humanitarian context.
A Strong Expertise in ENA for SMART, Epi info,SPSS applications and mobile data collection is mandatory
You have an experience in management and coordination skills (HR, projects, and stress management);
You have an experience in conflict-related displacements and nutrition crisis contexts
You have a familiarity with donors (ECHO, GFFO,EU, BMZ,BHA, UNโฆ) reporting and regulations
A Working experience in Afghanistan or the region is a plus
An excellent English language level (spoken and written) is required

12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
Monthly gross salary from 2597 to 2968โฌ upon experience
Monthly per diem and living allowance: 625โฌ net, field paid
Monthly country allowance: 450โฌ
16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses and repatriation insurance
Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 215โฌ at each RnR period
