5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Votre environnement de travail

ACFโ€™s intervention in Nepal started in 2005 with a focus on addressing the health and nutrition needs of the conflict affected population. From 2009 to 2012, Nepal established strong policies to tackle malnutrition: ACF actively participated in the process, signing into the Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP), an ambitious document aiming at reducing undernutrition through multiple pathways, mobilising several ministries, donors and civil society to address the condition. Since 2012, we have been collaborating with government stakeholder on Nutrition and Health, Food Security and Livelihood, WASH and Mental Health, Care Practices and Protection (MHCPP) activities in Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi East, Nawalparasi West, Nuwakot, Ramechhap, Rasuwa, Rautahat and Saptari districts. We have also integrated research component into nutrition projects to measure the impact of mental health and care practices on treatment of severely malnourished children. In the aftermath of the April and May 2015 massive earthquake, our response strategy aimed at ensuring that the most vulnerable/less resilient households are able to respond to their immediate needs. The integrated actions ensured the access of the population to shelter, food, safe water and adequate sanitation services, support people in psychological distress as well as Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) and children under 2 years old to reduce the risk of child care practices and nutritional status deterioration.

Since 2021, ACF in Nepal have entered into strategic partnership with two national level NGO (NTAG and Sahara Nepal) and have jointly applied various proposals.

The local team is composed of 7 national employees. The mission's budget amounts to 345.000 EUR in 2023, including the partner's part. The mission is funded by the City of Paris for a water access project in the Trishuli river basin, and by the Neutflize Foundation for a project entitled \"Strengthening livelihood and community resilience through the promotion of nutrition sensitive food production of Neglected and Underutilised Crops Species (NUCS)\".
