Chemonics International is seeking technical experts to support the anticipated USAID-funded Morocco Climate Program. It is envisioned this Activity works in alignment with the new USAID climate strategy 2022-2030 and in collaboration with the Government of Morocco (GOM). USAID/Morocco aims to support efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change in Morocco, promote climate change adaptations best practices, and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change through education, economic growth, and governance programs. Specially, this project seeks to create a set of complementary activities that:
1. Promote resilience and scale climate adaptation best practices;
2. Support the Government of Moroccoโs efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change in Morocco; and
3. Strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change through economic growth, governance, and locally-led development programming.
These positions are anticipated to be based in Rabat, Morocco. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
We are seeking mid- and senior-level technical specialists in the following areas:
- Climate Smart technologies
- Climate finance
- Gender based climate programming
- Locally-led climate action
- Climate driven youth engagement
- Public-private partnership development
- Private sector engagement
- National and sub-national policy/enabling environment
- Strategic communication and social and behavior change
Qualifications for technical experts:
- Bachelorโs degree required in a relevant field such as international development, environment, climate change, public policy, or another related field; Masterโs degree preferred;
- At least five years of demonstrated technical expertise and experience scoping, designing, and/or managing programming in climate change and policy;
- Experience working on USAIDโfunded activities is preferred;
- Work experience in the Middle East and North Africa region and specifically Morocco is preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with government officials, NGOs/grantees, local media, the private sector, and other donors;
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
- Excellent written and verbal communication in Arabic, French and English
