In this part-time, maximum term opportunity (22.8 hours per week on Monday to Wednesday, through to end of September 2026, with potential for extension), youโ€™ll work with young people eligible for youth diversion as an alternative to court. Working across Darwin, Palmerston, and the Greater Darwin area, youโ€™ll be part of our Youth Diversion team, working alongside a Youth Specialist and reporting to the Team Leader.

You will make a difference by:

Supporting activities designed to increase young peopleโ€™s social and emotional wellbeing, life skills and education attainment Supporting the facilitation of group activities for young people Providing a culturally responsive service by embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the design, delivery and evaluation of your programs and services Engaging young people in activities promoting safety, protection and wellbeing and positive youth development, designed to encourage pro-social behaviour Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with clients and their families Actively participating in community events to promote program impact and grow program reach Contributing to case management plans for participants and families

Demonstrated skills and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, particularly young people in contact with the justice system Demonstrated experience in youth work / case management roles An understanding of complex intergenerational trauma Strong verbal and written communication skills An understanding of child protection concerns and commitment to responding safely and effectively Sound time management and organisational skills, and ability to manage and plan own workload
