About the project:

The Global Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience in Education Sector (GADRRRES) is a multi-stakeholder platform comprising UN Agencies, INGOs/NGOs, humanitarian and development organizations, private sector entities and similar alliances. Its purpose is to coordinate efforts for school safety, advocate for improved measures and enhance global information, resources and knowledge management on risk reduction and resilience education. GADRRRES developed the Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF)[1] in 2012, which has been endorsed by over 60 countries and serves as a guide for school safety programmes globally, including the Worldwide Initiative for Safe Schools (WISS).[2]

In 2021, Save the Children provided technical support to GADRRRES in reviewing and revising the CSSF to address evolving risks in the education sector. The resulting Comprehensive School Safety Framework 2022-2030 was globally launched in September 2023. This updated version emphasizes the importance of systems and policies in implementing school safety, adopts an all-hazards and all-risks approach (including. climate risks, pandemics, conflicts, all forms of violence, and daily emergencies), and aims to bridge the nexus of development, humanitarian and peace-building work relevant to the education sector.

Following the launch of the CSSF 2022-2030, GADRRRES and Save the Children, seek to attract the interests of new stakeholders, secure endorsements, and obtain policy and financial commitments from governments and development partners at different levels. The redesigning of the GADRRRES website is among the priority actions to contribute in effectively generating more interest from stakeholders and which can eventually lead to directly supporting the implementation of the CSSF at different governance levels

Save the Children is seeking expressions of interest or proposals for the development or redesigning of the Global Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience in the Education Sector (GADRRRES) website (https://gadrrres.net).

The primary focus of the consultancy assignment is to align the website’s branding and style with that of the Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF), streamlining design elements to enhance user experiences. Specifically, the assignment requires the establishment of the GADRRRES website that operates on a user-friendly platform, with long-term stability and requires minimal maintenance. Additionally, the assignment expects a website that allows easy addition or removal of outdated content, with the assistance of lay volunteers experienced in basic website upkeep. Furthermore, GADRRRES desires improved speed, security, and search engine optimisation for the website.
