The Online Communications Unit (OCU), the Manila-based branch of the IOM Media and Communications Unit, focuses on several key areas of work. These include bringing expertise and agility to manage the digital environment effectively, ensuring IOM's online presence is a strategic priority, maintaining consistency in online brand representation, guiding and empowering colleagues through web management training, and being dedicated to swift and effective responses to web based demands, efficiently meeting various web-related needs.
Under the direct supervision of the National Web Production Officer, and the overall supervision of the Head of the Online Communications Unit (OCU), the successful candidate will support Website Content Production activities managed by OCU in accordance with established guidelines.

  1. Maintain and update content on one or more designated high-profile IOM websites or digital platforms.
  2. Execute routine, structured Quality Assurance (QA) checks including the documentation and identification of prioritizing fixes, documenting issues and recommending corrections in line with
    IOM standards.
  3. Manage the OCU web production team's content calendars as coordinated with the National Web Production Officer, including the gathering and implementation of inputs directly from internal
    stakeholders or content owners to ensure strict compliance to all deployment or publication deadlines.
  4. Implement advanced CMS solutions including proper tagging for search, SEO and analytics.
  5. Provide technical support to the production team and troubleshoot routine CMS and content
    delivery issues before escalating complex problems to the National Web Production Officer or the Development team.
  6. Provide peer-level support, and technical guidance to Junior Website Assistants on specific production techniques, workflows, and processes.
  7. Actively monitor and promote adherence to IOM's internal web standards, branding guidelines, and digital policies during all content production tasks.
  8. Publish and optimize multimedia content, paying attention to its accessibility across all devices, and compliance with technical and visual web standards.
  9. upport tasks related to the IOM Media Library to contribute to efficient asset management and retrieval.
  10. Perfom other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATIONย 

  11. University degree in Computer Science, Communication or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four (4) years of relevant professional experience; or
Completed High School Degree from an accredited academic institution, with six (6) years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

EXPERIENCE

Relevant work experience in graphics and web design, ideally with an international organization or company.Experience in the use of an enterprise intranet.Knowledge and experience in the use of web/intranet analytics.Knowledge and experience in the use of a content management system.Knowledge and experience in the use of knowledge-sharing and community-building applications.

SKILLS

Ability to create original, innovative and engaging graphic design.Ability to keep abreast with the latest technology tools, design, and best practices for developing and maintaining the various IOM websites.Excellent, applied knowledge and skills in HTML, CSS and W3C standards.Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver.Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
