Organizational Context:

Under the overall guidance of the Director, Human Resources and direct supervision and guidance of the HR Specialist, Workplace Relations, the JPO will have regular meetings with the HR Specialist and other members of the HR team on topics of direct relevance. At the beginning of the assignment, a negotiated work plan will be developed, and will detail expected outputs and success indicators over the reporting period.

Establishment of a Work Plan: During the first month of the assignment, the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) will work jointly with the direct supervisor to finalize an agreed upon work plan. The final work plan will be discussed and mutually agreed to by the JPO and the supervisor. The supervisor will ensure timely and meaningful feedback is provided to support professional growth..
Evaluation:ย
The Performance Management and Development (PMD) tool will serve as a primary platform to evaluate of the JPOโs performance.
Mentorship: mentorship is critical in the development and professional growth of the JPO and available through Structured Guidance and Supervision with the goal of gradually increasing responsibilities. Empowering the JPO to network with both peers and senior colleagues, and effective knowledge sharing.

โข ย ย ย ย A significant amount of the JPOโs development will occur through guided experiences, which take place during the assignment.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
As focal point for SEA/SH, provide technical guidance, trainings and policies including :
Act as the focal point for taskforces, internal and external, related to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and sexual harassment (SH) and in this capacity liaise with ย ย ย ย ย Executive Coordinator and Spokesperson on Sexual Harassment and Discrimination on key issues; Work closely with the HR Workplace Relations Specialist on training and development of awareness-raising material on ethics, standards of conduct and the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual exploitation and abuse; Support the response and development of action plan to the UN System-wide Sexual Harassment Survey; Support the development of a SEA action plan for 2019, based on the SEA surveys and SEA special measures report; Maintain SEA/SH briefing notes and presentations for different stakeholders including member states and boards; Support the development of communication and resources to support knowledge management, increased awareness and understanding of HR policies related to SEA/SH, standards of conduct, diversity and inclusion through consultation and engagement across the organization; Conduct trainings/guide personnel on Ethics and Code of Conduct at HR and field locations; Initiate and conduct trainings and awareness campaigns;Draft and maintain resources related to workplace relations including:
The implementation of UN Women related policies and procedures related to workplace relations; Prepare and maintain resources to help educate staff in respect of rights, responsibilities, code of conduct and difficulties associated with the workplace; Provide analysis and support to the HR Specialist on performance concerns, grievance resolution and disciplinary action; Provide administrative support to facilitate the work of external mediation and investigation bodies as appropriate, including the Ombudsman and Office of Internal Oversight Services:Prepare reporting documentation and technical support:
On the preparation of accurate and quality documentation, statistics and reports on the impact of the workplace relations services in UN Women;ย On the responses to queries from and attend meetings including with the Joint Inspection Unit of the United Nations system (JIU), the Audit Advisory Committee (AAC), internal and external audits on ethics, workplace relations matters as required; As Liaison with the UN Ethics office, as needed; On the development, implementation and the monitoring of the action plan 2019-2021 introducing measures to create a more inclusive and positive work environmentThe incumbent may be required to travel to UN Women regional and/or country offices;
