Enhance coherence and coordination in delivering the UNSDCF 2023โ€“2027. 2. Strengthen collaboration among UNCTs and regional organizations. 3. Foster team building and strategic alignment across the Pacific UNCTs. Facilitation Scope: 1. Design the retreat agenda in consultation with RCs, RCOs, and UNCT members. 2. Conduct bilateral consultations with Heads of Agencies. 3. Facilitate sessions using interactive methodologies (group work, plenaries, etc.). Include sessions on: 1. Socio-economic and geopolitical foresight 2. UN80 and UNCT capacity 3. Pact for the Future and SDG Acceleration 4. Gender equality, youth, and human rights 5. Regional partnerships and coordination 6. Joint programming, communications, and results reporting 7. Common operations and efficiency initiatives Additional Functions: 1. Organize relevant external speakers. 2. Facilitate discussions among the three RCOs to strengthen collaboration. 3. Prepare a final report with outcomes, recommendations, and an action plan. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced degree (Masterโ€™s or higher) in a relevant field. A Bachelorโ€™s degree with additional experience may be accepted. Minimum of 15 years (with Masterโ€™s) or 22 years (with Bachelorโ€™s) of relevant experience in international development or strategic facilitation: - Strong experience in facilitating UN retreats or similar strategic planning events. - Deep understanding of the SDGs, UN Reform, and UN inter-agency coordination. - Excellent facilitation, analytical, and communication skills. - Fluency in English is required. Additional InformationThe United Nations Resident Coordinator System is seeking a highly experienced consultant to serve as the facilitator for the upcoming UNCT Pacific Retreat, scheduled to take place in Suva, Fiji from 1 to 3 October 2025. This strategic retreat will bring together the three Pacific Resident Coordinators, Heads of UN Agencies, and Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) staff to reflect on progress and challenges in implementing the Pacific UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023โ€“2027. The retreat will focus on key priorities including UN80, the Pact for the Future, gender equality acceleration, and enhanced regional collaboration. The consultant will play a central role in designing and delivering an engaging and results-oriented retreat. Responsibilities include developing the retreat agenda in consultation with stakeholders, conducting bilateral consultations with Heads of Agencies, facilitating interactive sessions, organizing external speakers, and preparing a comprehensive final report with actionable recommendations. The consultant will also support discussions among the three RCOs to strengthen collaboration and strategic alignment across the Pacific UNCTs. This role is primarily remote, but the consultant must be available to travel to Suva, Fiji to facilitate the three-day retreat. All travel arrangements and expenses, including per diem, will be fully covered and organized by the United Nations and are excluded from the remuneration package. The total remuneration for the consultancy is USD 10,227, with payments made upon completion of deliverables. Ideal candidates will hold an advanced degree in a relevant field and possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in international development or strategic facilitation. Strong experience in facilitating UN retreats or similar strategic planning events is essential, along with a deep understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Reform, and inter-agency coordination. Fluency in English and excellent facilitation, analytical, and communication skills are required.
