Description of Responsibilities /Scope of Work

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Communications Officer, and in close consultation with the relevant Programme team members, the selected consultants will be responsible for providing high-quality graphic design and illustration services in English and Nepali as needed by the UN Women Nepal Country Office. This includes designing publications, campaign materials, infographics, social media content, and visual assets for events and advocacy. The scope of work requires demonstrated experience in visual storytelling, a strong understanding of gender equality and womenโ€™s empowerment, and the ability to deliver creative and strategic design solutions aligned with UN Womenโ€™s branding. The detailed scope of work and responsibilities for the assignment are as follows:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Create visual materials, including graphics, illustrations, and layout designs, for social media, stories, and knowledge products. Develop original illustrations that enhance storytelling and advocacy across various platforms. Design engaging animations for social media and the UN Women website to increase audience engagement. Ensure all visual outputs align with UN Womenโ€™s branding and visual identity guidelines. Collaborate closely with the Communications Officer and programme teams to understand design needs and incorporate feedback.

Deliver high-quality final files in required formats, including editable versions, and ensure proper archiving of design assets.

Education and Certification:

Completion of a technical course or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in developing illustration, graphics, and designing.

Languages:

Working knowledge of English and Nepali languages.ย 

Evaluation Criteria

The maximum score that the candidate can achieve for this consultancy is 100. Candidates who receive a score higher than 70 will be qualified for this position.ย

The maximum score that the candidate can achieve for this consultancy is 100. Out of 80 (technical evaluation score), candidates who receive a score higher than 60 will be selected for interview. Hence out of 100 (total score), the candidate should score more than 70 to be qualified for this position. ย
