ContextThis task contributes to our organization's commitment to accessible communication by ensuring that key video content is available in multiple UN languages. The video, featuring International Sign (IS) interpretation, will be presented at the Global Disability Summit and shared across UN platforms. The assignment involves translating the existing English subtitles into Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish for a 3-minute 20-second video (UN Volunteers with disabilities, the heartbeat of the UN). Volunteers will work with timestamped English captions, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the original message. Familiarity with translation and subtitling tools is beneficial but not required.
Task DescriptionWe are looking for online volunteers to assist in translating captions for a video that will be featured at the Global Disability Summit and across UN social media platforms. Translate English captions into Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish. Ensure accuracy and cultural appropriateness while maintaining alignment with video timestamps. Work with provided timestamped English subtitles for consistency. Collaborate via email or virtual platforms if needed.
