The section provides administrative support services to all Pension Fund staff members. The incumbent reports to the P-5 Chief, BSS. ResponsibilitiesThe Training Officer will be responsible for the coordination of Learning and Development activities of the Pension Fund. Within delegated authority, the Training Officer will be responsible for the following duties: โ€ข Implements the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training, learning, and development, in line with the Fundโ€™s learning and Development strategic priorities. These programmes encompass a range of activities, including, inter alia, technical and substantive training, leadership and management training, and organizational development courses. The incumbent will also support welfare activities for the Pension Fund. โ€ข Identifies need for new or modified training policies and practices, works with Services and staff to identify future training requirements, and develops strategies to meet them. โ€ข Provides inputs into the preparation and monitoring of the Fundโ€™s training budgets. Processes training proposals and requests and follows up with specific focal points to ensure that training guidelines are adhered to. โ€ข Develops and upgrades instructional/training materials for training, learning, and development programmes, promotes the services of the Training component through various initiatives and marketing platforms, and updates activities and accomplishments. โ€ข Provides advisory services to managers and staff, to ensure that training and development meet current needs and anticipates to the extent possible future needs. Develops tools and participates in assessing training needs, collecting and collating required inputs, and preparing relevant reports. โ€ข Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training, learning and development activities and develops appropriate reports. โ€ข Coordinates administrative and logistical support for the delivery of training programmes and team activities; this may include completing requirements in recruiting consultants and training service providers. โ€ข Coordinates the organization and conduct of development initiatives such as mentoring, induction, and capacity building for all staff. โ€ข Collaborates with other functions, including the Focal point for women, Staff Counselor, Culture focal points, OHR, DOS, and training focal points of other UN-related entities, to ensure that cross-cutting concepts are incorporated into the design and development of programmes. โ€ข Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. โ€ข Assists the Fund to provide responses on training related questions from auditors and Governing Bodies. Work ExperienceA minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in learning and development, adult learning, training or a related area is required. Experience in the design, and practical delivery of formal training sessions and programmes is desirable. Experience working in a multicultural or international work environment is desirable. Experience in the design and implementation of learning and development strategies is desirable. Experience in the design and development of e-modules for training is desirable. 2 years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
