Mission and objectivesThe UNDP Sustainable Energy Hub is a network of partners that work alongside countries to transform energy systems though an integrated agenda focused on the policy, technology and financial shifts that shape sustainable economic development. We help countries build net-zero, people-centered societies driven by a just, sustainable energy transition. Our core principle is to promote an integrated agenda that supports energy for development, including by mobilizing partners to enable 500 million additional people to have access to sustainable, reliable, affordable energy by 2025, leaving no-one behind. The global transformation of energy systems has already started, but is being altered by the current geopolitical context. However, this transformation must be accelerated, and it must be done in a way that advances the Sustainable Development Goals. The Sustainable Energy Hub is UNDPโs answer to these challenges. To drive the systems-level change needed, the Sustainable Energy Hub aims to bring about a completely new way of thinking, doing business, connecting people and knowledge. UNDPโs 2022-2025 Strategic Plan has put sustainable energy at the heart of a joint corporate mission, and UN-Energy has pledged to reaching key energy milestones by 2025. UNDP will focus efforts on mobilizing partners and catalzing action to provide access to sustainable, affordable, and reliable energy โ both electricity and clean cooking โ to 500 million people by 2025, focusing on the worldโs poorest communities. UNDP will not do this alone โ our role here is to mobilize strong, meaningful, impactful partnerships to deliver action on the ground. We aim to bring about a new way of thinking about energy and advocate for an integrated, inclusive approach, where all stakeholders participate meaningfully in its design.
ContextA new initiative of the SEH is the Sustainable Energy Academy, which aims to create concrete impact on the ground by providing countries with tailored made capacity building and a strong global community of experts and practitioners on energy as enabler for development. The Academy will connect energy for development with nexus topics such as water management, food resilience, finance, health, employment and social protection, climate and security, and gender equality. The Energy Academy's target audience includes UNDP staff, policymakers, government officials, and stakeholders involved in energy planning and decision-making processes. It will offer customized programs that align with national energy strategies, ensuring relevance and impact. The program strategy of the Energy Academy includes (i) learning and training, (ii) building a community for knowledge exchange, and (iii) generating engagements. It will offer comprehensive capacity-building programs, interactive modules, live webinars, and discussion forums to enhance the capabilities of countries and foster cross-learning.
Task DescriptionWe are looking for 4 online volunteers to support the migration of Sustainable Energy Academy content between Figma files. This task involves transferring text and visuals from existing module files into newly structured templates, ensuring that the visual layout and layer hierarchy are accurately maintained throughout the process. Volunteers will also help gather relevant images to build an image bank for each module. This is a detail-oriented task that requires familiarity with Figma and strong attention to layout and layer structure. Each volunteer will be assigned two Academy modules to complete within a short timeframe (ideally 1โ2 days). Responsibilities : - Transfer content between Figma files, ensuring correct layer structure, text formatting, and layout consistency based on the new templates. - Make sure all text is placed within unified text boxes to follow standard formatting guidelines. - Flag any structural issues, inconsistencies, or missing elements during the transfer process. - Help gather relevant images for the image bank associated with each module.
