The position is initially based in Marib until December 2025, then will be primarily based in Aden, with extensive travel and long durations in field locations as required.

IMAS EOD level 3 or equivalent military qualification. Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian mine action, including at least 3 years at a senior management level. Experience in capacity development of national staff to effectively understand the land release process. Experience in operational planning and reporting. Excellent knowledge of Humanitarian Disarmament policy, IMAS, NMAS, SOPs and land release principles. Proven experience in managing a comprehensive mine action toolbox, including manual assets and mine detection dogs. Experience with and understanding of Conflict Preparedness and Protection an advantage. Experience in liaison with National Mine Action Authorities is an advantageAs a person, you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for overseeing the daily planning, supervision, and execution of operational mine action and conflict preparedness and protection as well as the use of manual assets and mine detection dogs. Act as the Operations Manager during absences, managing all operations and liaison with the Yemen Mine Action Coordination Centre operations department. Support the operations manager in developing the capacity building plan for staff members who have been identified to undertake training in leadership or specialised roles within operations. Lead the implementation of the capacity development plan for staff under his/her direct line management. Provide technical input for Standard Operational Procedures and other technical documents relevant for clearance of explosive hazards in the area of operations. Provide progress reports on technical, operational (including post clearance impact assessments) and administrative matters. Conduct, oversee and maintain an operational QM system in cooperation with the Operations Manager and Quality Management Officer. Support the Operations Manager in the implementation of the annual project operational plan to achieve set donor targets. Personally, conduct spot tasks, identify and isolate components of ordnance and improvised mines, and search unoccupied structures. Assist the Operations Manager in ensuring operational accreditation.
