Mission and objectivesIOM's Mission in Viet Nam is based in Ha Noi with a sub-office in Ho Chi Minh City, and experienced and dedicated staff assisting the government and the people of Viet Nam in the field of migration. IOM first began operations in Viet Nam in 1987 and works under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. IOM has close working relationships notably with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - MARD the Viet Nam Womenโ€™s Union, and others, and has carried out numerous project activities throughout the country. Established in 1951, IOM is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration. It works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners around the world. IOM is dedicated to supporting both governments and migrants in promoting humanitarian and orderly migration. The IOM Constitution recognizes the link between migration and economic, social and cultural development, as well as to the right of freedom of movement. IOM works towards practical solutions for migration problems, providing humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, and with partners to promote international cooperation on migration issues.

ContextIOMโ€™s mission in Viet Nam, operational since 1987, promotes safe and orderly migration while enhancing the welfare of Vietnamese people, especially migrant and mobile populations. With offices in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, IOM works closely with the Vietnamese government on key areas such as preventing trafficking in persons, protecting migrant workers, and facilitating safe labour migration pathways. In addition, IOM addresses health-related migration issues and provides technical assistance to strengthen migration governance. Through international cooperation and capacity building, IOM helps ensure that migration contributes positively to Viet Nam's development, making it both safe and beneficial for all. A new project entitled โ€œProject to support integrated care services for enhanced inclusivity of migrant women and their children in six provinces of Viet Namโ€ aims to develop and promote an integrated, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional approach to provide effective support to the migrant women and their families. Funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the project will be implemented by IOM in collaboration with the Central Womenโ€™s Union, and other related ministries, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders at the central and provincial levels.

Task DescriptionUnder the oversight of the Head of Project and Partnership, the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer (NPO) on Protection, and working closely with the Protection Team, the TA will be responsible for supporting IOM in the coordination and management of project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Main Tasks & Responsibilities The primary roles of the TA are: Project Implementation and Coordination โ€ข Providing support to the protection team and partners during project implementation, with a focus on protecting the rights of migrants in vulnerable situations. โ€ข Managing calendars, organizing, and coordinating project activities such as workshops, trainings, and meetings (virtual, hybrid, or in-person). โ€ข Supporting logistics, including travel arrangements, hotel bookings, and duty travel authorizations. โ€ข Supporting visibility efforts and drafting correspondence. โ€ข Liaising with procurement and finance units to manage contracts, payments, and vendor coordination. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication โ€ข Supporting project coordination and correspondence with KOICA, IOM Seoul, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and other Korean agencies during project implementation, as appropriate. โ€ข Assisting the NPO in coordinating with the members of the Reintegration Working Group. โ€ข Participating in meetings and maintaining effective communication across stakeholders. Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation โ€ข Supporting data collection and analysis for monitoring and reporting. โ€ข Assisting with the timely and quality preparation and submission of periodic reports to the donor. โ€ข Performing other tasks as assigned by the Head of Project and Partnership and the NPO

Living conditions and remarksOur Office is located in Capital City of Viet Nam. The workplace can be reached by public transportation and affordable taxis, while the town offers all amenities, such as hospitals. As this is an international UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. Entitlements of International UN Volunteer include Entry Lump Sum Allowance (USD4,000); Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) for International UN Youth Volunteer based in Hanoi, Viet Nam (about USD1,900*); Entitlement Travel for UN Volunteer and eligible dependents (subject to authorization by UNV HQ in writing): Flight tickets (entry on duty & repatriation); Insurance Coverage (Comprehensive health, life, and malicious acts insurance); Annual Leave of 2.5 days per month; Access to UNVโ€™s learning resources; and Exit Lump Sum Allowance (USD225 per month served) payable upon successful completion of the assignment.
