Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission, the direct supervision of the Migration Response Coordinator, and in close collaboration with Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for assisting in coordinating the successful implementation of Support to floods recovery activities in BiH and projects of IOM.
- Independently lead and coordinate the implementation of the project; monitor implementation of the activities to ensure work is proceeding according to established plans; analyse implementation difficulties and make recommendations for adjusting implementation modalities and work plans to best reflect changing environment on the field.ย
- Regularly research, follow-up, compile, analyse and present information/data on national, regional and international developments, reports, legislation and other relevant documentation, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.
- Monitor budget expenditures; verify availability of funds and maintain a proper record of approved project budgets and their revisions.
- Coordinate and monitor the financial, administrative and technical aspects of the project in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct capacity building workshops for relevant internal and external parties. ย
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.ย
- Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports; ensure status reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.ย
- Identify and document good practices and lessons learned; contribute to the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), policies and concept papers and support the development of new projects.
- Supervise and provide guidance and training to reporting staff.ย

ย
EDUCATION
- School diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in liaising with Government authorities, other national/international institutions (including EU institutions, UN agencies and civil society) and donors;
- Experience in emergency operations, migration and human rights, migrant rights, irregular migration and human trafficking;
- Experience with project management, planning, development and implementation.
- Experience in financial management, accounting, and budgeting.
- Experience with internal control assessment, internal audit and or external audit.
- Knowledge of EU funding related reporting requirements is an advantage.
SKILLS
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
- Knowledge and experience in setting priorities, in devising policies and strategies as well as in conducting advocacy.
- Excellent computer literacy.
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written) and in one of the three official languages spoken in BiH.
