ย Context
Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency, is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advise to governments and migrants.
Under the direct supervision of the Lead Case worker and overall supervision of the Head of Office, the incumbent will be responsible for implementation of the case work component of the social inclusion activities.
1. Provide comprehensive support to beneficiaries during their arrival, settlement in Hungary, or while transitioning to other European countries, as well as to the members of local host communities.ย
2. Disseminate information and respond to complex information requests and inquiries about the rights of refugees and third country nationals and about available IOM services in-person in Budapest Helps! Info Point, the IOM Hotline and other designated online platforms.ย
3. Conduct shelter-related activities (manage the accommodation requests, facilitate check-in and check-out processes, monitor occupation). ย
4. Design, implement and monitor case management plans according to identified needs, focusing on social inclusion, including education, employment, livelihoods, health care, etc.ย
5. Provide social-work type case management to complex cases, including referrals and develop individualized plans to promote social inclusion.ย
6. Conduct eligibility needs and vulnerability assessments, environmental assessments and beneficiary feedback forms. Raise awareness about protection risks for affected people. Support mainstreaming of gender and protection during the implementation of protection activities.ย
7. Stay updated with Hungarian and European legislation (asylum/reception), related social services and service mapping.ย
8.ย Conduct face-to-face survey interviews (DTM), collect information on humanitarian needs. Use and update relevant data collection tools on a regular basis and submit reports as required.ย
9. Maintain systematic record and arrange documents related to the beneficiaries and project, following IOM data protection principles. Ensure regular timely reporting on activities.ย
10. Provide support in implementing NFI/CBI, comprehensive case work and protection activities ensuring that they are in line with the guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
11. Prepare periodical reports and updates on activities, trends and best practices.ย

13. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferably in Social Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience ORย
- High school diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Experience in counselling activities is required;
- Experience in working with vulnerable people and/or migrants and internally displaced people is desirable;ย
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage;
- Experience in conducting data collection and interviews is an advantage.ย Skills

For this position, fluency in English and Ukrainian is required (oral and written);
IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.ย
Working knowledge of Hungarian is an advantage.
