Objectives Increase access to and participation in free education, both state-provided and private, for vulnerable groups. Provide and support vocational training and literacy programs to improve welfare and livelihoods. Eliminate violence and discrimination against women and girls through the promotion of gender equality, human and property rights, democracy, and good governance. Expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, while promoting awareness on healthy living. Promote rural livelihood enhancement by supporting water and sanitation facilities, agricultural development, and training on disaster risk management (DRM) to address climate change impacts. Context
ContextERONet is a women-centred community-based organization operating in rural, post-conflict, and refugee-hosting districts of Northern Uganda. With over 15 years of grassroots experience, ERONet is strengthening its institutional systems and strategic clarity to support sustainable programming and partnerships. This assignment supports ERONet to translate existing strategy content into a well-structured, realistic, and usable strategic document that reflects community realities rather than aspirational or donor-driven models. The refined Strategic Plan and Organizational Profile will be used for internal planning, partner engagement, and donor communication.
Task DescriptionERONet is seeking an experienced online volunteer to restructure and refine its existing Strategic Plan (2025โ2030) and organizational profile into a clear, concise, and context-appropriate draft for internal review and validation. The volunteer will work from existing ERONet documents and will be responsible for drafting a revised structure and narrative, rather than providing high-level commentary or evaluation. Key tasks include: 1. Strategic Plan Restructuring and Drafting Reorganize the Strategic Plan to improve flow and usability, including: A Foreword (to be attributed to the Board Chair โ content drafted for review) An Acknowledgement section from the Executive Director highlighting strategic pillars, partnerships, and networking/advocacy A concise Executive Summary replacing extended background, history, governance, and staffing sections Draft an Executive Summary that clearly articulates: ERONetโs women-centred, community-driven approach Priority thematic areas (education, health, WASH, livelihoods, protection, resilience) Geographic focus in Northern Uganda Alignment with national and global frameworks (NDP IV, SDGs, district priorities) Remove or streamline sections that are not essential to a strategic planning document (e.g. detailed achievements or monitoring reports) 2. Refinement of Strategic Goals, Outcomes, and Indicators Redraft ERONetโs strategic framework into a clear goalsโoutcomesโindicators matrix, ensuring: Logical coherence Realistic indicators appropriate to ERONetโs scale Clarity for internal planning and partner communication Organize thematic goals covering education, women and adolescent health, WASH, prevention of violence against women and girls, livelihoods and nutrition, and disaster risk management 3. M&E, Risk, and Resource Mobilization Sections (Drafting Only) Draft a simplified Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning framework suitable for a community-based organization Structure a risk matrix with practical mitigation measures grounded in ERONetโs operating context Consolidate an existing resource mobilization section, including donor mapping by sector and funding approaches, without developing budgets or financial projections 4. Organizational Profile Alignment Review and refine ERONetโs Organizational Profile to ensure consistency with the revised Strategic Plan Ensure tone, scale, and messaging are aligned with ERONetโs capacity, context, and long-term positioning The volunteer will prepare draft documents for ERONetโs review and validation. Final approval remains with ERONet leadership and Board.
