Mission and objectivesUNICEF in Turkey works to protect the rights of children and adolescents in Turkey since 1951. UNICEF's programme in Turkey focuses on the needs of the most vulnerable children in the areas of education, child protection, health care, social policy, adolescents and youth, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
ContextThis UNV assignment aims to support the external surge mechanism (Standby Partners), taking the lead on Human Resources (HR) aspects (onboarding, maintenance, and off-boarding) of experts deployed by third parties and co-leading projects connected with expertsโ experience during missions. The candidate also leads capacity building (training) and HR projects, such as Onboarding Packages. The UN Volunteer will also support the team in administrative and logistic tasks linked to communications and visual material (slide decks/brochures/reports etc.) for a diverse range of products/channels and will support various partnership management activities.
Task DescriptionThe UN Volunteer will work within the Interagency Humanitarian Partnerships Section under the direct supervision of the Emergency Specialist (standby arrangements) and in close coordination with the Standby Partners team within the Inter-Agency Humanitarian Partnerships (IAHP) Section, Emergency Operations Division (EMOPS Geneva) will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. In coordination with country offices (CO) - HR focal points and supervisors, ensures that employees and receiving offices have completed the onboarding checklist (i.e. activation of e-mail, issuance of office equipment, security, and programming briefings etc.). 2. Ensures that current HR processes are conducted and recorded accordingly (Onboarding email, Check-in Calls, Performance Evaluation Reports (PER) systems, Weekly analysis of Vacant Roles, etc.). 3. Ensures maintenance of records (i.e. deployment requests) within the Standby Partner Online system (Salesforce). 4. Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and records within our central System (Salesforce and PowerBI) are up-to-date and maintained run reports, and prepare summary analysis against critical indicators regularly (for management meetings, in advance of partner meetings, etc.) and on an ad hoc basis as required. 5. In consultation with CO HR and security focal points, provide deploying agency appropriate and specific information related to safety and security measures and procedures in duty stations, as required. 6. Follow-up on all deployments (in liaison with Headquarters (HQ) focal points, supervisors, and deployees) to ensure completed and filed performance evaluation reports, that offboarding actions are completed in a timely fashion, and ensure completion of the post-deployment survey upon the end of deployment. 7. Takes the lead on administrative and logistic aspects related to capacity building (training), 8. Takes the lead on special projects associated with the expertโs experience during missions (Staff Well-Being (SWB), Onboarding package, Exit Surveys, etc.). 9. Supports the SBP team on communication/advocacy and other initiatives as required. 10. Supports the SBP Team in administrative and logistic aspects of communications (attendance of bilateral meetings, follow-up of KPIs, PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs, visual reports).

The UN Volunteers are responsible for arranging her/his own housing and other living essentials. This assignment will be based in Istanbul, with the possibility of reassignment to another location due to ongoing organizational changes.
