It was founded in 1948 with the purpose of contributing to the region's economic and social development. Its mission includes the design, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and the provision of advisory services, expertise, and training to Governments, as well as support for regional and international cooperation and coordination activities. Please visit our website at www.eclac.org for further information. The internship is not paid and is offered in-person full-time (five days per week; 35 hours; working hours 8:30 to 16:00). Under the supervision of the Social Affairs Officer, the intern will support the Unit of Social Development (USD) on the CEPAL-Wellspring Fund project: \"Closing Educational Gaps in the Communities of Southern-Southeastern Mexico and Guatemala\". Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: • Support the development of a mapping, calendar, and work plan for participation in events on education policy and inequalities, aimed at presenting and discussing the project's progress. This includes identifying and systematizing forums and meetings, preparing materials, among other activities. • Contribute to the consolidation of a monitoring and evaluation framework for the project, supporting the organization and systematization of a model to record and document progress, results, and impact. • Providing support to ongoing project activities, assisting in the review and revision of project documents, and conducting research on educational or other social issues in Mexico and Guatemala. • Providing administrative support to the project. • Consolidating and organizing data sets for Mexico and Guatemala. • Assisting with the coordination of meetings, workshops, and outreach activities. • Delivering a final report with all materials and activities developed during the internship, including proof of completion. The intern’s contributions will be essential to support the daily and multidisciplinary work required by the project, enhancing the understanding and closing of educational gaps in the region. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Participation in voluntary, community-based, or associative initiatives, particularly where the applicant contributed to project administration or management in fields such as education or social development, will be considered an asset. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required for the internship. Knowledge of spoken and written English is required for the internship.
