The internship in the Social Development Division of ECLAC will last 2 to 6 (2 min/6 max) months, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an \"as-needed\" basis. The intern will work under the supervision or overall guidance of a Social Affairs Officer and Social Affairs Research Assistant. The intern will support the team in the topic of social protection policies, including the recopilation of information, analysis and diagnosis of pension systems in the region, and the organisation of events and activities. Tasks will include: -Research of qualitative, quantitative, institutional, and official data on indicators and social protection policies, programs, and measures, including pension systems; drafting inputs related to social policy, public/government institutions, and social protection documents. -Gather and summarize research information on specific topics, particularly in social protection, social development, and pension systems. -Contribute and support activities such as the organization of seminars and expert meetings, producing briefs and presentations upon request, including those related to non-contributory pension systems. -Work collaboratively with other members of the team; process statistical information, including data on non-contributory social protection programmes and pension systems. -Contribute to updating the content of databases and websites of the Social Development Division, incorporating information on non-contributory pension systems. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Ideally, candidates should have a background in economics and/or data management. Previous research experience in social protection and/or pension systems is desirable. -Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required -Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, -Master’s or PH.D. Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish are required for this internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
