ContextUNDP is committed to mobilizing support for advancing womenโs leadership and gender equality in biodiversity planning and policy processes, as well as implementing transformative actions for nature around the world that also contribute to womenโs empowerment and gender equality outcomes, in line with its Gender Equality Strategy and Nature Pledge. As part of these efforts, the organization has developed several knowledge products, methodologies and regional and national level capacity building processes to provide gender related technical guidance to countries updating their NBSAPS, developing biodiversity projects and implementing nature-based solutions. UNDP has become, in many countries, a key referent and provides guidance and specific recommendations on how countries can identify and address gender considerations in various sectors or processes that are relevant to the national biodiversity agenda.
