ย Context
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Senior Projectย Assistant, the incumbentย will be based in Dublin and will be accountable for the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of the โAssistance with the administration of applications for Temporary Protection in Irelandโย project in Dublin and other duty stations in Ireland, providing efficient operational and administrative assistance related to the implementation of the project.
- Assist the Senior Projectย Assistant in the implementation of the โAssistance with the administration of applications for Temporary Protection in Irelandโ Project in the duty stations requested by the donor in Ireland.
- Manage day-to-day activities, maintain smooth and efficient operations in close coordination with the Senior Projectย Assistant, including liaising with donor, local authorities and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Assist the Senior Projectย Assistant in the development of training materials and provision of the first general IOM induction and training sessions to the new IOM personnel hired.
- Support the supervision of the personnel deployed in the Registration Centres and Points of Entry in Ireland.
- Identify and report good practices and lessons learned to the Senior Projectย Assistant.
- Support the Senior Projectย Assistant in the development of new Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs), and in the improvement of the existing ones, as necessary.
- Regularly research, follow-up, analyze and present information/data on national and European developments, reports, legislation and other relevant documentation, highlighting noteworthy issues to the Senior Projectย Assistant.
- In close coordination with the Senior Projectย Assistant, ensure collection and consolidation of relevant data and information, prepare regular project updates, summaries, visibility materials and other relevant programme materials.
- Implement and monitor the operational, administrative/financial and HR activities related to project.
- Promote and maintain the continuation and further development of synergies with the other existing IBG Projects in Ireland.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Education
- School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience. - Proven experience in a similar settings & capacity.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the application of the Temporary Protection in Ireland and in the European Member States according to the Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/382 of 04.03.22, based on Directive 2001/55/EC).
- Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to migration issues in Ireland is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant Irish government authorities structuring and working isย highly desirable.ย
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Excellent knowledge of information technology and proficiency inย Microsoftย Officeapplicationsย especiallyย Excel,Word,ย PowerPoint.
- Prior work experience with UN Organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Skills
- In depth knowledge of the legal and normative framework of International Protection and areas dealt with by the Organization
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy & confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
