    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Senior Project Assistant is assigned to the Bangladesh Resident Mission (BRM) within the South Asia Department (SARD). You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

    You will report to the designated International Staff and Officer (as applicable).

    Your Role

    As a Senior Project Assistant, you will provide project and coordination support for activities related to processing and administration of transport sector projects.

    You will:

  • Assist the country portfolio management units and sector missions in preparation of Country Portfolio Review Missions (CPRM) and Tripartite Portfolio Review Missions (TPRM).
Communicate with staff concerned at the HQ, coordinate with the Economics Relations Division (ERD) and government agencies, and ensure distribution of CPRM/TPRM aide memoire. Assist in holding workshops, preparing and ensuring delivery of letters to participants, and preparing certificates. Assist the project team in the implementation of TAs and grants, including support in recruiting consultants and coordinating related activities. Edit and format ADB documents such as project completion reports (PCRs), Technical Assistance Completion Reports (TCRs), consultant reports and upload them to SharePoint. Help handle daily routine functions to support the portfolio management unit. Help prepare briefing papers for senior management, presentation materials for senior officials' meetings including fixing/organizing seminars, workshops, press conferences etc. Develop and maintain document files and databases. Monitor incoming and outgoing documents, reports, e-mails for action or reassignment (in the absence of responsible Sector Staff). Perform any other duties and reflected in the incumbent's workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related fields At least 5 years of relevant experience in development projects, including in the transport sector Good knowledge of processing and project administration activities. Experience organizing project review missions, workshops, events, or similar activities. Experience editing and formatting documents and presentations, and managing files, reports, and basic databases using computer applications. Experience collaborating with teams, government counterparts, and external stakeholders. Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and permanent residents of Bangladesh.

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew, initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier, for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB, in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB, based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staff's particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit, sufficient funding to cover the renewed period, and Staff's performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However, this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
