(Senior) Legal Counsel

The Legal Department’s Treasury Legal Unit is looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel on a two-year fixed-term contract.
Key responsibilities:
Support and develop automated post-trade documentation processes, legal templates and standard clauses
Lead and participate in projects to digitalize, automate and streamline working processes
Provide legal advice on treasury law matters
Handle other legal and administrative tasks as required
The ideal candidate should:
Have a Master of Laws degreeHave minimum 2-4 years (Legal Counsel) or minimum 10 years (Senior Legal Counsel) of relevant work experience in finance and capital markets law gained at a law firm, in the banking sector, at a financial institution, or as in-house counsel
Demonstrate an understanding of the ISDA framework, including the Master Agreement and standardized derivatives documentation (considered a strong asset)
Have knowledge of financial markets regulation relevant for NIB
Have strong IT-skills (e.g. Word, Teams, Copilot, SharePoint), be a quick learner of new digital tools, and have a keen interest in digitizing and automating tasks
Be fluent in spoken and written English with the ability to draft and negotiate legal documents in English; knowledge of a Scandinavian language and/or Finnish is desirable
Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Have ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure
Have attention to detail, be solution-oriented and diligent
