    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Senior Investment Specialist is assigned to the Investment Funds and Special Initiatives Division (PSIS) within the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines and may be assigned in one of ADB's Resident Missions.

    You will report to the Director, PSIS and will oversee Junior team members.

    Your Role

    As a Senior Investment Specialist, you will lead the origination up to implementation of third-party funds using debt, equity and mezzanine financing instruments for PSIS.

    You will:

    a. Project Processing and Management

  • Identify fund management teams in Asia that align with ADB's private equity investment strategy and mandate.
Lead fund investments analysis, due diligence, and underwriting. Lead internal approval processes, negotiate terms and complete fund documentation. Prepare technical assistance papers and applications for funding. Serve on Advisory Boards and attend annual investor meetings. Lead co-investment transactions. Support fund monitoring and administration to ensure compliance with investment requirements. Monitor fund financial performance and actions.

b. Economic, Sector and Thematic Work

Provide comments on papers related to private sector development and operations. Maintain and share knowledge of international best market practices and global trends.

c. Strategy and Planning

Collaborate to achieve ADB's goals relating to PE fund, climate and gender. Participate in country teams and missions for planning nonsovereign operations priorities.

d. Staff supervision

Lead reporting staff by giving clear direction, regular monitoring and provision of feedback, supervising performance and supporting learning and development.

Qualifications

You will need:

Master's degree, or equivalent, in finance, engineering, business or related fields; or University degree and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered. At least 10 years of relevant professional experience International experience working in several countries. Experience in emerging market financing, preferably in Asia and the Pacific. Proficiency in oral and written English, and excellent presentation skills To initiate and bring deals to completion Sound business judgment, commercial instincts and problem-solving skills To work with large, culturally diverse teams Please refer to the link for ADB Competency Framework for Technical International Staff Grade 2 (TI2)
