Position Title: Sr. Director of Content and Creative Position Classification: Regular; Exempt; Full-Time; 40 hours/WeekReports To: Managing Director, Marketing and CommunicationLocation: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or hybrid of these two options. Position Overview: The Senior Director of Content and Creative leads the development and execution of a unified storytelling and creative strategy for Partners In Health (PIH). This role is responsible for producing compelling narratives and innovative visual communications that elevate PIHโs brand, drive resource generation, and inspire action across diverse audiences. Overseeing the content, multimedia and graphic design teams, the Senior Director sets a bold vision for how we communicate our mission. As a senior leader in the Marketing and Communications department, the Senior Director works in close partnership with stakeholders across the organization and global sites to ensure creative and editorial excellence, strategic alignment, and brand consistency in all public-facing materials. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership (50%)
- Define and drive PIHโs global content and creative strategy, ensuring alignment with the organizationโs mission, values, and brand identity.
- Lead PIHโs Editorial Board and drive integrated messaging and content planning across multiple audiences.
- Evolve and uphold PIHโs visual brand standards to ensure consistency, creativity, and mission alignment.
- Support the Managing Director of Marketing and Communications in shaping and strengthening local communication strategies, with emphasis on capacity building, integration, and alignment with global standards. Team and Project Management (35%)
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary 12-person team of writer/editors, designers, videographers, and archivist. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and positive collaboration across the organization.
- Oversee creative and editorial planning, budgeting, and project management, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors to maximize internal bandwidth and budget specifications.
- Implement and optimize systems for workflow, project management, and digital asset management (e.g., Asana, Canto, Figma, Drupal). Content and Creative Execution (15%)
- Serve as lead editor and creative director for high level projects and campaigns, maintaining high standards across all outputs.
- Ensure all content and creative outputs reflect PIHโs voice, values, and mission.
- Build relationships across the organization to foster collaboration, alignment, and integration. Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in communications, journalism, design, or a similar field, or relevant related work experience 10 years of progressively responsible experience in content strategy, creative direction, or related fieldsโpreferably in mission-driven organizations.
- Proven experience managing and integrating interdisciplinary teams (e.g. writers, designers, and multimedia professionals).
- Exceptional editorial and design judgment, with the ability to inspire and direct powerful, resonant storytelling.
- Proficient in project management, content management systems, and creative software (e.g., Asana, Drupal, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma).
- Fluency in written and spoken English required, and knowledge of additional language(s) considered an asset, especially Spanish, French, or Haitian Creole.

Pay and BenefitsThe expected starting salary range for new hires in this position is between $125,000-145,000/year and may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market for the position, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position belongs to a class of roles that have a salary range between $120,000-160,000/year. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with employer match, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employeeโs eligible dependents. Full time employees will receive 15 days of vacation, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteer days in addition to paid time off during the week between Christmas and New Yearโs Day, the week of July 4th, and 11 additional holidays annually.
