About this position

We are looking to hire a seasoned technical specialist in Software and Solution Architecture as a Senior Consultant in Software and Solution Architecture. You will help us collaborate with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) on Project FuSSE, which aims to design and construct a fully scalable settlement engine. This collaboration is part of the BIS Innovation Hub's initiative to foster innovation and enhance the efficiency and safety of the financial system globally. The need for a specialist microservice development arises from the technical requirements of the project, ensuring optimal design, scalability, and efficiency.

You will work in Connectivity, Markets and Finance Division (CMF) part of IFD department. The IFD/CMF team plays a vital role in the development of private sector and financial markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our experience includes supporting commercial banks, promoting sustainable social, environmental, and corporate governance practices. Our projects foster the competitiveness of private companies, improving the ability of financial regulatory authorities to protect consumers and businesses, minimizing risk and increasing transparency, as well as financial inclusion for women's entrepreneurship, populations rural areas, and climate finance.

What you鈥檒l do

You will provide expertise in the development of software and solution architectures as required for project development, collaborating with the BIS Innovation Hub team as well as with teams from additional project participants currently involved in the project

Develop technical designs, configurations and implementations of the assigned solution components deriving from Project FuSSE

Participate in regular and unplanned meetings with other project team members to evaluate requirements, constraints and issues where their expertise in software and solution architecture is needed

Collaborate in regular reviews with the rest of the teams of project scope, requirements and technical documentation

Review and provide feedback on project milestones and commitments

Participate in regular project update stand-ups and meetings

Provide regular feedback on assigned task progress

Provide timely feedback or input on issues or developments that impact project scope, timelines, and commitments

Elaborate documentation related to your participation in the project, including but not limited to, technical documentation, progress reports, incident tracking, root cause analysis and issue resolution

Use of provided tools for version control, project asset tracking, and project collaboration

Deliverables and Payments Timeline

Payment shall be provided on a bimonthly basis against the delivery of the corresponding bimonthly progress reports

3.3. Technology Stack Decisions: Recommendations and justifications for specific technologies, tools, platforms, and frameworks to be used in the project.

3.4. Non-functional Requirements Specification: Details about system performance, scalability, security, maintainability, and other non-functional aspects.

3.5. Integration Strategy: Guidelines on how different system components or external systems will communicate and integrate with each other.

3.6. Security Architecture: Details about the security measures, protocols, and tools that will be implemented to protect the system and its data.

3.7. Infrastructure Design: Specifications for the underlying infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud configurations, and other hardware or infrastructure-as-a-service components.

3.8. Data Architecture & Database Design: Descriptions of data models, database schemas, data flow diagrams, and strategies for data storage, retrieval, and migration.

3.9. Prototypes & Proof of Concepts (PoCs): If applicable, early versions of the system or its components to validate architectural decisions or to demonstrate feasibility.
