We are seeking a communications specialist to deliver targeted, time-bound communication products that effectively position ImpactSF's mission and impact pathways with key stakeholders.
The Role and Responsibilities

In liaison with the ImpactSF engagement and origination lead, the consultant will deliver specific communication products and strategies as outlined in the deliverables section
Responsibilities

Develop a comprehensive communications toolkit for ImpactSF, including templates and guidelines for stories, press releases, blogs, and digital content, to be completed within the 5-month consultancy period.
Develop a detailed communication plan and associated materials for ImpactSF's participation in major events (e.g., UNFCCC's COP), including pre-event, during-event, and post-event communication strategies and content, to be delivered prior to the event.
Design and develop all communication materials for a series of 3 ImpactSF webinars with partner organizations, including promotional content, presentation templates, and post-webinar summaries, to be completed by the end of the consultancy.
Create a standardized set of 3-5 presentation templates and 2-3 brochure designs for ImpactSF's strategic meetings and workshops, ensuring brand consistency and messaging, to be delivered as final, editable files.
Produce a series of 5 short (1-2 minute) multimedia content pieces (e.g., animated explainers, short video testimonials) focusing on key ImpactSF achievements, to be delivered as final, ready-to-publish files.
Deliverables

Provide content and design recommendations for updating the ImpactSF webpage on Alliance and CGIAR websites, delivered as a comprehensive document with proposed text, image placements, and structural suggestions.
Develop a detailed content and design brief for a new external ImpactSF website, including sitemap, wireframes, and content outlines for key pages, to guide future development.
Develop 2 editable templates templates for ImpactSF reports, 2 templates for briefs, and 5 adaptable designs for social media cards, ensuring brand consistency.
Produce a package of 50 social media content pieces (e.g., graphics, short text posts) and 5 knowledge product summaries (e.g., infographics, executive briefs) aligned with the developed communication toolkit.
Compile a prioritized list of 5 key events relevant to ImpactSF's objectives, along with a high-level communication strategy for ImpactSF's engagement in one selected event.
Develop the content and structure for 3 thematic knowledge sharing briefs (e.g., policy briefs, technical notes), each focusing on a specific ImpactSF impact area, to be delivered as final drafts.
Copy-edit a maximum of 3 ImpactSF reports or publications (up to 50 pages each), ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
Develop a template and content outline for the ImpactSF 2025 Highlight Report.
Develop 5 monthly ImpactSF social media engagement reports

Requirements Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Agribusiness, Natural Resources and working in interdisciplinary programs related to agriculture, environment and development studies preferred.
Good understanding of food system solutions at the nexus of agriculture, environment, and social dimensions in developing countries.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
Ability to create engaging digital content for use on social media platforms to a high standard, using platforms like Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Headliner etc.
Experience with photography and/or videography desirable
Demonstrate initiative and creativity in reaching and enthusing new and existing stakeholders and working in a multi-stakeholder environment
Well-developed organization skills with the ability to deliver on-time and manage numerous tasks simultaneously
Prior experience with Alliance and CGIAR system highly desirable
