Where you come in:

Save the Children is forming a six-member Response and Recovery Team to support communities in Shefa Province affected by the 17 December earthquake through education, cash and voucher assistance, child protection, and psychosocial support. As the Project Officer - Education and Child Protection, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of education, child protection and psychosocial support initiatives as part of Save the Childrenโ€™s earthquake response and recovery efforts. Based in Port Vila, the Education and Child Protection Officer will support the restoration of education services in schools and the delivery child protection and psychosocial support to children, teachers, and communities affected by the earthquake.

You will make an impact by:

Education:

Collaborate with schools, MoET, and stakeholders to identify needs for classroom rehabilitation and school supplies.

Coordinate with Procurement Officer and school committees for construction and replenishment efforts.

Ensure MoET designs align with disability inclusion and disaster-resilient standards.

Monitor rehabilitation progress and distribution of learning materials.

Child Protection:

Support Child-Friendly Spaces in affected communities.

Develop and distribute resources promoting safety, mental health, and resilience.

Partner with organizations to deliver PSS services via subgrants.

Monitor and evaluate child protection and PSS activities to ensure effectiveness.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Collect and report data on program activities, including rehabilitation, distribution, and grants.

Document success stories and lessons learned.
