ABOUT THE ROLEย
The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Project Manager, Stopping Impunity for Corruption through Enhanced Accountability (SICEA)โฏto join the Projects Team.ย
The goal of the SICEA project is to build sub-regional communities of practice that promote anti-corruption reforms and leverage existing accountability mechanisms to reduce impunity for high-level corruption in Africa. Building on its existing network of Chapters in Africa, this project will be delivered with participation from 11 chapters in Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo, Uganda and Zambia, and will enable more CSOs in Africa to engage with relevant legal accountability mechanisms and strengthen their advocacy efforts to advance anti-corruption reforms in Africa more effectively. In particular, the project will support CSOs in Africa to more effectively document corruption and engage with relevant independent accountability mechanisms to deter corruption and reduce impunity for corrupt actors, and will also strengthen CSO collaboration and capacity to more effectively promote evidence-based advocacy to advance anti-corruption reforms in Africa.ย
The role requires a highly motivated professional with sound experience in complex project management and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), excellent communication skills in both English and French, and a strong interest in good governance, legal accountability, and civil society participation in Africa. Role Purpose:โฏTheโฏProject Manager, โฏStopping Impunity for Corruption through Enhanced Accountability (SICEA)โฏis responsible for ensuring smooth implementation of the SICEA project, coordinating the work flow, financial and administrative management of the project and ensuring that agreed goals, best practice standards in project management and MEL, donor obligations and TI-S regulations are met relating to the project implementation by TI-S and partners.ย

Band: โฏSalary according to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF2 a salary starting EUR 42,000.00 gross per year depending on relevant experience.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLEย
Based in the Projects Team, theโฏProject Manager, Stopping Impunity for Corruption through Enhanced Accountability (SICEA)โฏwill:
Coordinate day-to-day project implementation of the SICEA Project, including activity planning, budget management, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring that all phases are consistent with the design and delivery schedule and internal processes and procedures, and striving for high-quality and gender responsive outputs and the greatest possible impact of project activities.
Coordinate the preparation of all project management tools (project calendar, workflows, team collaboration plans, stakeholder and risk management, reporting documentation and MEL) together with relevant colleagues in other TI-S teams including Global Movement, Policy and Advocacy, and Research and Knowledge.
Work in close collaboration and ensure ongoing communication with the 11 partner chapters, to support implementation of the project, particularly in efforts toย monitor and evaluate project impact, plan advocacy interventions and communication/outreach activities, and share knowledge and experience across activities.
Coordinate the organisation of institutional meetings and events as per the projectย calendar, and ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of project activities and the organisation of related events.
Collaborate and communicate regularly with the Finance team to buildย accurate financial forecasts, including reviewing financial reports and identifying in advance areas of over- or under-spending, and flagging any urgent budgetary issues
Ensure work deliverables meet quality standards and proactively seek input from relevant internal experts as needed.
Together with the regional advisors for Africa and legal specialists in the Advocacy Team, collaborate onย capacity building, network management and regional advocacy efforts related directly or indirectly to the project.
Coordinate donor engagement and relationship management in relation to the project.
Represent the project/organization at relevant fora as needed; build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders; contribute to external communications and media work as needed.
Generate ideas and develop concept notes/proposals that are aligned with organisational priorities.
Contributeย additional project start-up support to other new regional/global projects in the Projects Team portfolio and related team strengthening initiatives.
Contribute to the overall functioning of the Projects Team byย providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary.ย
CANDIDATE PROFILEย
In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:
University degree in business administration, management, finance, social science, public administration, economics, or another relevant field
5+ years of project management experience, preferably with an International NGO or International Organisation, withย demonstrated in-depth knowledge of project management best practices and including complex multi-country or multi-partner contexts
Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of TI and the field of anti-corruption and legal accountability
Demonstrated working experience in Africa essential, including regional
