Work LocationHome-based Expected duration3 March - 30 November 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnhancing the capacity of governments in the Asia-Pacific region is key to the effective production and use of relevant and disaggregated statistics for policymaking, monitoring, and evaluation. In partnership with the Republic of Korea, ESCAP supports countries through its innovative tools and solutions that enable them to establish a dialogue between national policy sectors, statistical offices, and SDG implementation bodies to review existing policies, identify priority issues and population groups of focus, and develop comprehensive monitoring frameworks to enable evidence-based decision making (through implementation of Every Policy is Connected \"EPiC\" framework). ESCAP, together with its development partners, is launching capacity-building projects to enhance the capacity of the national officials engaged in policy formulation, monitoring, and official statistics to a) effectively engage in muti-stakeholder consultations for formulating inclusive policies and assessing data needs, and b) be able to develop indicator frameworks that are fully aligned with policy priorities, address data disaggregation requirements and better inform the production of official statistics. The consultant will report to the Head of Statistical Data Management Unit (SDMU), Statistics Division, ESCAP. Qualifications/special skillsBachelorโs degree in statistics, economics or related field. At least 3 years of national and/or international experience working on official statistics. Demonstrated experience supporting national statistical systems on evidence-based decision-making. Previous professional experience in Asia and the Pacific at the country and/or regional level is desirable. Previous professional experience in project management is an asset.
